KATHMANDU, JANUARY 11

Nepal APF Club and Nepal Police Club registered their second straight victories in the Prime Minister Cup T20 National Cricket Tournament here today.

APF defeated Bagmati Province by seven wickets at the TU Stadium.

Batting first, Bagmati scored 125-8 in their 20 overs before APF reached 126-3 with eight balls remaining riding on a half century from Lokesh Bam. Bam, who hit medium pacer Ramnaresh Giri for five fours and a six in the fourth over of the match, scored a quick fire 50 off just 24 balls that included a total of 10 boundaries and a six. Opener Pradeep Airee remained unbeaten on 36 off 54 balls, while Sandeep Jora scored 15 not out. Ramnaresh Giri, Rijan Dhakal and Pratis GC took one wicket each for Bagmati.

Earlier, Ishan Pandey top scored for Bagmati with 29 runs, while Nandan Yadav contributed 24 and Subash Khakurel scored 21. Abinash Bohara was the pick of the APF bowlers taking 4-32, while Kamal Singh Airee grabbed two wickets.

Also, NPC defeated Tribhuvan Army Club by four wickets in the departmental derby. Batting first, TAC were bowled out for 137 runs in 19.5 overs before NPC raced to 141-6 with 12 balls to spare. Kushal Bhurtel top scored for NPC with 35 runs, while Rashid Khan contributed 28. Dilip Nath remained unbeaten on 25 and Anil Shah scored 22. Shahab Alam took three wickets for TAC and Jitendra Mukhiya grabbed two.

Earlier, TAC skipper top scored for the team with 44 off 36 balls, while Sompal Kami struck six fours in his 35-ball 42. Karan KC took 4-17 for NPC, while Gulsan Jha and Yogendra Singh Karki bagged two wickets each.

At Mulpani grounds, Province-II and Province-I recorded their first victories. Province-II defeated Gandaki Province by two wickets. Batting first, Gandaki posted 116-7 in 20 overs before Province-II reached 120-8 with 11 balls remaining. Arjun Kumal top scored for Gandaki with 41, while Sudeep Chhetri scored 27 and Anil Gurung and Bipin Khatri contributed 10 each. Mohammad Aadil Khan took two wickets for Province-II.

In reply, Hasim Ansari scored 26 for Province-II, while Santosh Karki contributed 23 and Hari Krishna Jha scored 17. Krishna Poudel took three wickets for Gandaki, while Bishal Poudel and Subash Bhandari bagged one each.

In another match, Karnali beat Province-I by 31 runs. Batting first, Karnali scored 120-7 in 20 overs before packing Karnali Province-I for 89 runs in 17.5 overs. Rabindra Shahi top scored for Karnali with 36 runsm while Prakash Jaisi contributed 25.

Mukund Yadav took three wickets and Firdosh Ansari grabbed two for Province-I.

In reply, only Firdosh Ansari was able to make significant contributions for Province-I scoring 23 runs, while Dipesh Kandel and Sarwan Yadav scored 15 each.

Abuj CHunara was the pick of the Karnali bowlers taking 4-16, while Diwan Pun grabbed two.
