All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), on Sunday, appointed Kuwaiti national Abdullah Almutairi as the head coach of men's national football team.

Almutairi, who is a professional licence holder and AFC coaching instructor, was handed a one-year term to coach the team of the Himalayan nation, ANFA informed.

On the request of ANFA, Qatar Football Association (QFA) sent an AFC pro-licence coach to train the Nepali football team. Earlier, ANFA and QFA had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding development of technical aspect of the game in Nepal.

Before being appointed as the head coach of Nepal's national men's team, Almutairi has previously held coaching experience with clubs in his homeland Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. He had also worked as the coach of Kyrgyzstan U-16 team.

Talking to media, the newly appointed coach said, "I am very happy to take the job as a challenge and make every Nepali supporter happy with our performance in the field."
