Nepal beat Bangladesh

KATHMANDU: Nepal registered their second victory at the fourth South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) Championship at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore on Saturday.

Nepal, who had a mixed bag on the opening day of the Asian Championship, defeated Bangladesh 87-74 in the third match. Skipper Sadish Pradhan top scored for Nepal with 17 points. Ashim Shrestha netted 14 points and took eight rebounds for the team, while Ayush Singh and Binod Maharjan scored 13 points each. For Bangladesh Mithun Kumar Biswas scored 24 points and had eight rebounds, while Mithun Sarkar netted 22 points with 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Nepal Basketball Association announced to reward the team with Rs 50,000 for their victory over Bangladesh. In Friday’s two matches, Nepal lost to India by 90-37 before registering a 72-58 victory over Bhutan.
