Nepal has entered the semi-final after defeating Malaysia in a match of the ACC East Zone U-16 Cup Cricket. The tournament is currently being held in Malaysia. Nepal secured their spot in the semi-final by defeating Malaysia by 84 runs in a match played at Bayuemas Oval cricket ground.
With this victory, Nepal emerged as the winners of Group 'A'. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Nepal amassed a total of 183 runs in 33.4 overs, losing all their wickets in the process. Ashok Dhami top-scored for Nepal with 52 runs, while Suryanshu Koirala and Naren Bhatta contributed 29 runs each. Additionally, Deep Bhujel made 15 runs and Niraj Kumar Yadav scored eight runs.
In pursuit of Nepal's target, Malaysia managed to score 99 runs in 30.5 overs, losing all their wickets. Mohammad Hairil scored 25 runs, and captain Mohammad Alif added 15 runs to the team's total. Apart from Hairil and Alif, the remaining batsmen failed to reach double-digit scores.
For Nepal, Ashok Dhami took four wickets, while Captain Abhishekh Tiwari claimed three wickets, and Santosh Yadav secured two wickets.
Following this loss, Malaysia advanced to the semi-final as the runner-up team of Group 'A'.
