KATHMANDU: Nepal faced a 1-0 defeat in the second and final match of the international friendly series at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon on Monday.
Win Laing scored the solitary goal of the match to hand the home victory. After a goalless first half, the two teams were heading towards another draw but Laing found the back of the nets four minutes before the end in a counter attack.
The teams had played a goalless draw in the first match of the series last week.
Dinesh Henjan of Tribhuvan Army Club made his national debut after he replaced Awash Lamichhane in the 83rd minute.
Another TAC player Jillespie Jung Karki and Jawalakhel Youth Club's Hishub Thapaliya had earned national caps in the first match.
Nepal will now play against Laos in the first round match of the FIFA World Cup selection tournament at the Dasharath Stadium on October 12. Nepal will then travel to Laos for a return leg match slated for October 17.
