Nepal face Thailand today
Kathmandu, November 30
Nepal will face hosts Thailand in their fourth match of the ACC Women’s Asia Cup at the Terdthai Cricket Ground in Bangkok on Thursday.
Both Nepal and Thailand have been knocked out of the tournament after losing three matches. However, Nepal will be looking to avenge their defeats in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier for Asia Region held in Hong Kong last month. Thailand beat Nepal by three wickets in their first meeting and recorded a one-wicket win when they faced each other second time in the competition.
Nevertheless, Nepal won three matches— two against China and one against Hong Kong — to finish as runners-up behind Thailand that earned them a place in the Asia Cup.
In Thailand, Nepal faced a nine-wicket defeat against Pakistan, went down by eight wickets against Sri Lanka before losing to Bangladesh by 92 runs.
Similarly, Thailand lost their first match by nine wickets against India, faced a 35-run defeat against Bangladesh and went down to Sri Lanka by 75 runs.
Currently, Nepal are at the bottom behind Thailand in the six-team table due to inferior run rate, while India (six), Pakistan (six), Sri Lanka (four) and Bangladesh (four) are at the top four respectively.
