Nepal falter against Palestine, fail to qualify for AFC U-16 Championship 2018

KATHMANDU: Nepal failed to quality for AFC U-16 Championship 2018 as they stuttered against Palestine 2-1 in the final group game played at the Halchowk Stadium in Kathmandu, on Sunday.

With today's result, Nepal languishes at the bottom with a solitary point in Group D of the campaign.

Iraq top the group with 7 points followed by India with five. Nepal and Palestine played a dead rubber after the top-topper Iraq were held to a goalless draw by India in today's encounter.

Iraq have qualified for the AFC U-16 Championship 2018 to be held in the Malaysia next year. India have qualified as the top five runner-ups in the qualifiers for the Championship.
