Nepal lose, again
KATHMANDU: Nepal faced a 3-0 defeat against Jordan in the fourth away match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Preliminary Competition and 2023 AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers on Wednesday.
Nepal could hold Jordan to a goalless draw in the first half but they conceded three goals in the latter half. Jordan scored their first goal from the spot in the 56th minute of the match. Feras Shelbaieh converted the penalty after Nepal’s Dinesh Rajbanshi committed foul in the danger zone. Ahmed Al-Erasan extended the lead in 78th minute before Baha Faisal sealed home side’s victory 10 minutes later. Earlier, Nepal suffered a 7-0 defeat at the hands of Kuwait before beating Chinese Taipei 2-0. Nepal then faced a 5-0 loss against Australia.
With third loss in four matches, Nepal have three points, while Australia lead the Group B table with nine points from three games, ahead of Jordan who have seven points. Kuwait have accumulated four points from three matches, while Chinese Taipei are at the bottom with three straight losses.
