Nepal fell just short in a nail-biting chase, losing to hosts Scotland by two runs in their ICC Cricket World Cup League-2 match at Fort Hill Cricket Stadium in Dundee on Sunday.
Chasing a daunting target of 324, Nepal managed 321 in their allotted 50 overs. Bhim Sarki top-scored with a steady 73 off 85 balls, including eight boundaries. He shared a 94-run stand with Arif Sheikh, who made 39 off 55.
Vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 56 off 51 and shared a crucial 105-run partnership for the seventh wicket with Sompal Kami, who smashed 67 off 44 with three fours and four sixes.
For Scotland, skipper Richie Berrington led from the front with a century, scoring 102 runs.
Nepal's Karan KC and Airee took two wickets each, while Lalit Rajbanshi chipped in with one.
