Nepal, Malaysia to play friendly match on March 27

KATHMANDU: Nepal national football team will play an international friendly match against Malaysia U-22 on March 27, the Football Association of Malaysia confirmed on Friday.

The Nepal team will be comprised mostly of the squad that won the gold medal in the South Asian Games recently.

Newly appointed coach from Japan Gyotuki Koji will be leading the squad to Malaysia.

Koji, who is in Simara to get a better idea of the Nepali football, will start his training when he comes back on Sunday and will also be announcing the preliminary squad for the game.

Meanwhile, the Football Association of Malaysia has also said that it will reschedule the international friendly match between the national teams of Malaysia and Nepal in May and has ‘deeply regretted to the misunderstanding’ that led to rescheduling of the match.

Earlier, the national teams of the two countries had agreed to play an international friendly match on March 29.
