KATHMANDU: Nepal's Manang Marshyangdi Club dream of progressing into the finals of the Shiekh Kamal International Club Cup evaporated after conceding a sloppy goal on 82nd minutes to the Maldives' TC Sports Club 1-0.

The game was played at the M A Ajij Stadium in Chittagong of Bangladesh on Monday evening.

TC Sports Club took a lead against a run-a-play after MMC goalie Dinesh Thapa Magar committed a blunder after he scooped a simple catch and rebounded off opponent's player into an unguarded net.

MMC runners-up of Group B failed to replicate the same attacking flair against Group A winners TC Sports Club of Maldives and were pegged back for most of the first halves.

TC Sports Club nearly took the lead on the 9th minute as the fierce drive from outside the d-box flew just wide of post. MMC failed to put the ball in the danger zone beyond TC Sports goalie as he anticipated the danger and smother the ball at his will.

TC Sports fluent passing was creating a lot of problem to the MMC last four as they nearly took the deserved lead on the 22nd minute after an opponent's striker missed a sitter after a cut ball into the six yard. He smashed his shot over the post only Dinesh Thapa Magar standing on his way.

Tired looking MMC failed to create clear cut chances and failed to test the TC Sports Club goalie with any shot into his post.

After the break MMC brought back their attacking flair and instantly put the TC Sports back line in their toes as they created half chances at will.

On the 65th minute MMC won a free at the promising position but the resulting free-kick was drilled over the bar. A minute later MMC nearly took an deserved lead as Afeez Olawale directed his header wide of far post after a good down down the right flank by Samson.

TC Sports looked dangerous on the break as they nearly took the lead on 75th minute against the run-a-play only the heavy touch from the TC players took the ball away from him before pulling the trigger from the promising position.

MMC make the first change of the game as they brought in Bimal Magar for Samson.

TC Sports relentless pressing on the break and organised game paid dividends and forced MMC to make a mistake as they conceded a sloppy goal on the dying minutes of the game.

MMC threw everything for a equaliser but failed to break-down the resolute defending of the TC Sports Cup.
