NPC enter final
BUTWAL: Nepal Police Club defeated Lali Rupandehi-XI in sudden death and advanced to the final of the 20th Tilottama Gold Cup Football Tournament at the ANFA Technical Centre grounds on Wednesday.
After the goalless draw in the regulation period of 90 minutes, both teams scored three goals each in tie breaker. In sudden death, Rejin Subba scored the winning goal for NPC as Rupandehi’s Karna Limbu was denied by NPC’s goalie Roshan Khadka.
Earlier in tie-breaker, NPC’s Suman Lama, Nir Kumar Rai and Bhola Silwal converted their shots from the spot, while Ajit Bhandari and Dinesh Rajbanshi failed to score.
Similarly, Rupandehi’s Manish Ghale, Chhiring Gurung and Nishan Limbu scored goals, while Bishwo Adhikari and Ashok Thapa were denied by NPC’s goalkeeper Khadka.
On Thursday, Ruslan Three Star Club will take on Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club in the second semi-final match.
