Nepal Police Club win volleyball title
TAPLEJUNG: Nepal Police Club won the third Pathibhara National Men’s Volleyball Tournament here on Thursday.
NPC defeated departmental rivals Tribhuvan Army Club 25-17, 25-13, 25-19 in the final match played at the Narayan School courts in Sanghu, Mouwakhola Rural Municipality.
With the win, NPC received Rs 351,500, while TAC pocketed Rs 176,251. The losing semi-finalists Nepal APF Club and Gandaki Province got Rs 50,000 each. NPC’s open spiker Kul Bahadur Thapa was declared the best player of the tournament and he earned Rs 15,000. NPC also dominated the individual awards winning five out of six honours.
Bishal BK (server), skipper Em Rana (setter), Bhim Gaha (defender), Deepak Raj Joshi (blocker) and Saroj Shrestha (coach) won the awards for NPC, while Tribhuvan Army Club’s Dhana Bahadur Bhatta was named the best spiker. He individual award winners received Rs 7,000 each.
Province-1 MPs Tanka Angbuhang, Bal Bahadur Samsohang and Hom Kumari Sawa handed over the prizes to the winners of the tournament organised by Jaljale Youth Club, New Pathibhara Club and Mouwakhola Club.
