Nepal secure three-wickets victory to register highest ODI run-chase against Scotland in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League-2 in Kathmandu, on Friday.

Chasing a record total of 275 for victory, Dipendra Singh Airee and youngester Kushal Malla hit half-centuries to secure famous victory at the full-house Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground.

Man-of-the-match Dipendra Singh Airee smashed unbeaten 85 runs off 116 balls including eight boundaries and a maximum and shared 55 run partnership with Sompal Kami (24) for seventh wicket to take the team home.

At one stage, Nepal were reeling 77 for five inside eleven over before Kushal Malla counter attacked to steadied Nepal's flattering chase with blistering knock 81 off 67 balls with nine boundaries and four maximum hit.

Scotland's pace bowlers Chris Sole and Mark Watt rattled Nepal's chase by picking three wickets each but not enough to prevent Nepal from securing a famous triumph.

Invited to bat first, Scotland's Michael Leask hit unbeaten 107 runs off 85 balls including three boundaries and nine sixes to set a record total for the hosts.

Sandeep Lamichhane scalped three wickets while Kushal Malla picked two wickets. Part-time bowlers Dipendra Singh Airee, Kushal Bhurtel chipped in with a wicket each.

Nepal will take on Namibia tomorrow at the same venue.
