SBI, Nabil, Raman advance to last 16

Kathmandu, November 8

Nepal SBI Bank, Nabil Bank and Raman General entered the round of 16 of the Century Bank Corporate Super Sixes here at the Tribhuvan University Stadium today.

SBI topped Group A with two victories. SBI thrashed Employees Provident Fund by six wickets before beating Kailash Bikash Bank by 74 runs. In first match, EPF scored 35-4 in their allotted five overs before SBI raced to the target in 1.3 overs without losing any wicket.

In another match, SBI posted 105 runs on the board without losing wicket against Kailash and restricted the opponents to 31-4. Kailash, who had defeated EPF by two runs on Tuesday, finished as runners-up and advanced to pre-quarters.

Similarly, Nabil Bank, who had defeated Om Development Bank by 80 runs in Group E match on Tuesday, saw off NIC Bank by five wickets to top the group. Batting first, NCC scored 86-2 before Nabil reached 88-1 in 4.3 overs.

Raman General finished as Group F winners after beating Kumari Bank by six runs and NMB Bank by six wickets. In their first match, Raman General scored 72-3 against Kumari Bank and restricted the opponents to 66-2. In the second match, NMB scored 69-1 before Raman General raced to victory in four overs. However, NMB, who had defeated Kumari Bank on Tuesday, became group runners-up to secure last 16 berth.

Meanwhile, Nepal Telecom, who faced a 23-run defeat against ICFC Finance in Group C on Tuesday, beat IME Group by 52 runs to finish as group runners-up behind ICFC.
