Nepal lose to Thailand by one wicket
KATHMANDU: Nepal lost to Thailand by one wicket during their fifth match of the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifying Series Asia Region at the Wong Nai Chung Gap in Hong Kong, on Friday.
Losing 9 wickets, Thailand wrapped up the innings in 18.4 overs.
Chanida Sutthiruang (not out) scored 27 off 25 balls with two fours and one six and Nattakan Chantam gathered 23 off 11 balls with three fours and one six.
Similarly, Sirintra Saengsakaorat scored 16 off 18 balls and Wongpaka Liengprasert 11 off 13 balls.
With the defeat, Nepali women's national cricket team's 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup journey ended today.
The Nepali team was only able to collect only four points from five matches.
Thailand is at the top of the group with eight points.
Nepal set 109-run target against Thailand
KATHMANDU: Nepal posted a 109-run target against Thailand during their fifth match of the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifying Series Asia Region at Wong Nai Chung Gap in Hong Kong, on Friday.
Nepal won the toss and elected to bat first.
The Nepali team lost four wickets and were restricted to 108 runs in 20 overs.
Nary Thapa (not out) scored 32 off 25 balls with one six and three fours and Indu Verma gathered 26 off 36 balls with three fours.
Similarly, Nirmala Kumari Shahi scored 20 off 20 balls, Jyoti Pandey 13 off 26 balls and Rubina Chhetry Belbashi (not out) 10 off 6 balls.
After losing two previous matches to Hong Kong and Thailand, Nepal had beaten China and Hong Kong on Tuesday and Thursday respectively.
