Nepal Ski Association gets sports materials from Japan

KATHMANDU: Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Masashi Ogawa distributed sports materials worth around Rs two million to Nepal Ski Association on Thursday.

Ambassador Ogawa handed over the sports materials to the Association Chair Jeevan Ram Shrestha amid a function organised at the Embassy of Japan in Kathmandu today.

Speaking at the function, Ambassador Ogawa said he was hopeful that the support would contribute in the development of ski sports in Nepal.

The adventurous game, which is played by gliding over snow, has been in practice in Nepal since 2007.

This game is enjoyed on the hills of Manang and Mustang in winter. It is one of the most popular games in Japan.

The embassy sources shared that the government of Japan has contributed various sports materials in over 100 countries across the world under its 'Sport for Tomorrow' campaign.
