NSC forms body for preparation

Kathmandu, June 30

National Sports Council on Friday formed a seven-member Construction and Preparation Committee under the leadership of its Vice-president Lama Tendi Sherpa — who is also the Secretary General of Nepal Olympic Committee — to work for infrastructures for the 13th South Asian Games to be held in Nepal in 2019.

NSC Member Arjun Bahadur KC, Nepal Triathlon Association General Secretary Nilendra Raj Shrestha, 13th SAG Preparation and Management Secretariat Secretary Rim Bahadur Ranabhat, NSC Administration Department Chief Basudev Acharya, NSC Construction and Maintenance Department Chief Arun Upadhyay and a representative from Ministry of Youth and Sports are the members of the committee.

The committee has been assigned with the job of preparing reports regarding the conditions of stadiums, covered halls, semi-covered halls and other grounds.

The committee will also collect data of the sports venues owned by Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Nepal APF and coordinate with them. It will also decide the logo, song, anthem, mascot apart from coordinating with the NSC, NOC and other concerned authorities to create favourable environment for the SAG.
