Nepal team off to Laos for one-off friendly

KATHMANDU: Nepal's national football team left for Laos on Friday to play an international friendly match.

Nepal will take on the hosts on Sunday, May 29 at the National Sports Complex at Vietiane Loas. The match is scheduled to kick off at 6:30 pm local time.

National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista and All Nepal Football Association Acting President Narendra Shrestha saw the players off amid a special function today, according to ANFA.

The Laos friendly will be Nepal's first match under the coaching of Japan's Koji Gyotoku.

Anil Gurung has taken over the armband from Biraj Maharjan after missing out in couple of international tournaments this time.

Also, goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong and striker Bharat Khawas made a comeback to the national team.

The team boarded a Thai Airways flight at 1:30 pm to Bangkok.
