Nepal to compete in Asian Cup Qualifiers
KATHMANDU: Nepal have been provided with an opportunity to play in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers.
Nepal got the chance following Guam’s withdrawal from the competition, informed All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).
Nepal’s success in the recently held AFC Solidarity Cup in Malaysia helped them grab the opportunity.
Nepal had defeated Macau 1-0 to claim the maiden title in the tournaments organised by the AFC.
A total of 24 teams will be vying for the 12 spots available in the tournament to be held in 2019 in the United Arab Emirates, said ANFA.
The 24 teams will be divided into six groups. The top two finishers from all the groups will qualify for the main event.
