Nepal win team event gold

Nepal won the team event gold medal in the Orion 34th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship at the Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka today.
The Nepal A team of Sukra Bahadur Rai and Tanka Bahadur Karki finished at the top of the standing with the total score of 12-over 300. Bangladesh B came second with the score of 303, while their A team finished third at 307.
Karki carded one-over 73 in the second round, while Rai played a round of three-over 75 to post the four-over 148. Both the players had shot four-over 76 each in the first round and they were at the second position.
Nepal B, represented by Yubraj Bhujel and Subash Tamang, came sixth with the total score of 331. A total of 10 teams took part in the tournament.
In individual section, four players survived the cut except for Bhujel. Karki is at the third position after the second round with the total score of five-over 149. He is four strokes behind leader Shafiq Bhaga of Bangladesh. Bhaga carded even-par 72 to add to his overnight score of 73 to post one-over 145. Ahmad Baig of Pakistan is at second position at 147 after he carded one-under 71.
Sukra Bahadur Rai is sixth at 150, while Subash Tamang is 10th at 154. Tashi Ghale, who played six-over 78 and 87 in two rounds respectively, also made the cut in gross section. Bhujel was lone Nepali golfer to miss the cut after he shot 86 and 91 for the total score of 33-over 177.
