Nepal win two bronze medals in New Delhi

Nepal won two bronze medals in the 11th SAF Junior Table Tennis Championship in New Delhi, today. In boys’ event, Nepal defeated Maldives 3-0; lost to Sri Lanka 0-3; beat Bhutan 3-0; and were beaten by India 0-3.
Against Maldives, Nepal’s Amar Lal Malla beat Munthin Mohd Ahmed 11-8, 11-1, 11-5; Deep Saun beat Moosa Ahmed 11-4, 4-11,11-5, 12-10; and Ajay Suwal overpowered Shaffahu Mohammed 11-9, 11-4, 11-5. All three Nepali players lost to Sri Lankans in boys team event.
Malla beat Suraj Sharma 11-6, 11-9, 10-12, 6-11, 11-9; Suwal beat Karma 13-11, 11-9, 6-11, 11-3; and Saun beat Khedup 11-7, 11-6, 11-4 against Bhutan. Malla and Suwal lost their matches against India’s Abhishek and Aprit. In girls’ event, Nepal beat Maldives 3-2; lost to Sri Lanka 1-3; beat Bhutan 3-1; and lost to India 0-3.
