Nepal’s 13 players into last eight of Junior Tournament

Lalitpur, September 13

Nepal’s 13 players, including six boys and seven girls, entered the quarter-finals of the Kesha Group ANLTA-Asian Junior Tour U-14 Circuit-II Tournament here at Satdobato Tennis Complex today.

In all-Nepal matches of boys’ singles category, Evyak Joshi edged past Saharsha Prajuli 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 and Aadit Subedi saw off Samragya Katawal 6-0, 6-1.

Likewise, Aryan Giri beat Rohan Bikram Chaudhary 6-0, 6-0, Saharsha Chand defeated Shampuk Rai 6-0, 6-0 and Grijesh Man Shrestha produced a 6-3, 6-3 win against Prasidha Moktan.

In other matches, Samyak Bajracharya saw off Indian opponent Thakur Sashikant 6-3, 6-1, while Sudesh Giri suffered A 6-0, 6-0 defeat against Thakur Shrikant of India. India’s Arnav Pathange beat his teammate Ambitious Goldsmith 6-1, 6-1.

In all-Nepal matches of girls’ singles, Ira Mehernissa Rawat beat Rayana Shah 6-1, 6-1, Sneha Yadav recorded a 6-0, 6-1 win against Lumu Tso Lama and Prerana Koirala produced a 6-0, 6-0 win over Sharvani Shrestha.

Similarly, Alsha Regmi beat Angel Dongol, Isha Shree Shah defeated Pravani Pradhan and Abhilasha Bista saw off Priyanka Chaudhary. They all bagged double bagel against their opponents.

In other matches, Saloni Tamang edged past Suravi Katawal 6-1, 6-1, while Shruti Tamang lost to India’s Lakshanya Vishwanath 6-0, 6-1.

In boys’ doubles, the pair of Saharsha Chand and Aadit Subedi beat the duo of Samyak Bajracharya and Aryan Giri 6-4, 6-3 and the pair of Evyak Joshi and Samragya Katawal won their match 6-1, 6-4 to enter into the semi-finals.

The Indian pairs of Sashikant and Shrikant Thakur and the pair of Arnav Pathange and Ambitious Goldsmith also secured their last four berths.

In girls’ doubles, the pair of Abhilasha Bista and Ira Mehernissa Rawat, the pair of Alsha Regmi and Saloni Tamang, the pair of Isha Shree Shah and Rayana Shah along with the pair of Prerana Koirala (Nepal) and Lakshanyak Vishwanath (India) booked their last four berths.
