New Horizon, Rajan advance to semis

BHAIRAHAWA: New Horizon of Rupandehi and Rajan Memorial School of Kathmandu advanced to the semi-finals of the Expert School Cricket League here at the Siddhartha Stadium on Tuesday.

New Horizon defeated Balmiki Siksha Sadan by seven wickets and earned berth in the last four. Opting to bat first, Balmiki were bowled out for 97 runs in 19.2 overs before New Horizon raced to victory in 13.5 overs with seven wickets in hand. Kushal Malla scored 28 runs in New Horizon’s victory.

Utsav Shrestha was the highest scorer for Balmiki with 21 runs. Balmiki had already advanced to the semis.

Similarly, Rajan Memorial secured their place in the last four despite facing a five-wicket defeat against Anirudh HS School of Kanchapur, who had already booked their place in the semis.

Opting to bat first, Rajan made 111 runs and Anirudh scored 114-5 in 17.2 overs. Rajan and Satyabati HS School of Tanahu accumulated one point each but former were superior on net run rate.
