KATHMANDU, MAY 27

The Nepal Golf Association on Saturday felicitated national team golfers Subash Tamang and Sadbhav Acharya for their achievement in the Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship.

Nepal No 1 amateur Tamang and Acharya had won gold medal in the team event of the championship held at the Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka from March 8-11.

Tamang missed a chance to win a gold medal in the individual section before settling for silver in the tournament.

Sushma Sigdel and Tara Karki Chitrakar had bagged bronze in the women's team event.

The NGA felicitated Tamang and Acharya with Rs 25,000 each and felicitation letters during the sixth annual general meeting of the association.

NGA President Tashi Ghale, Royal Nepal Golf Association President Madhukar Yakthumba and past president Rabindra Man Shrestha honoured golfers.

Meanwhile, the AGM unanimously elected the 13-member executive committee under Ghale. Pavitra Kumar Karki, Tilak Rai and Phursang Lama were elected as vice-presidents, while Chuda Bahadur Bhandari and Krishna Kumar Agrawal were retained as General Secretary and Treasurer respectively.

Deepak Acharya, Deepak Thapa Magar, Birendra Bikram Limbu, Prabin Yakthumba, Bhu Bahadur Gurung, Arshiya Banu and Shreeram Bhandari were elected as executive committee members in new body.
