NGA fete contributors


KATHMANDU: The Nepal Golf Association (NGA) celebrated its 25th Anniversary on July 30. Asia Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) President Kwang Soo Hur, Vice President David Cherry and Asia Pacific Director of R&A Dominic Wall attended the ceremony. Minister for Youth and Sports Ganesh Nepali and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Sharat Singh Bhandari were also the guests at the function. Speaking on the occasion, the APGC President Hur announced to give 20 sets of golf kits the NGA.

The NGA felicitated Nepal No 1 amateur golfer Rupak Acharya and first professional golfer Ghana Shyam Thapa on the occasion. Chairman of ISME Pvt Ltd Nagendar Pampati, Chairman of Gokarna Golf Resort Prem Sachdev, Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd and Yeti Travels.

English national daily The Himalayan Times, sports photojournalist of THT Udipt Singh Chhetry, Kantipur Publications, veteran sports journalist Shyam Chitrakar and Image Channel were also honoured for their contribution in the development of golf. The NGA and Yeti Travels announced their strategic alliance to promote Nepal as a golfing destination.
