Nitin Memorial in quarter-finals

Jivan Bhattarai netted 23 points to guide Nitin Memorial School to a 55-43 win over Learning Realm International (LRI) and a place in the quarter-finals of the first Xavier International Under-17 Inter-school National Basketball Championship here at the National Sports Council covered hall on Saturday.
Depot Secondary School of Sunsari registered their second successive victory in the tournament. After defeating Oxford School of Rupandehi in their first match on Friday, Depot outplayed Pennwood Academy 67-39.
Depot scored 18, and 15 in the first two quarters giving away nine and 14 points to their opponent. They completed the comprehensive victory after scoring 16 and 18 points in the next two quarters while restricting Pennwood to just seven and nine points. Heman Rai scored the highest 21 points for Depot.
Mount Glory edged past Little Angels 67-57 in another match. Niraj Pariyar of Mount Glory and Tejendra Gurung of Little Angels netted 18 points each. Likewise, Roshan Rawal scored 33 as Oxford crushed Small Heaven School of Chitwan 67-21 and Wilson Academy overwhelmed Malpi International of Kavre 57-18 riding on 18 points from Nawaraj Dahal.
