NOC sets 13th South Asian Games registration deadlines

The meeting between the officials of Nepal Olympic Committee and National Sports Council today set the deadline for the registration of the athletes for the upcoming 13th South Asian Games.

As per the release issued by the NOC, the deadline for registration by sports disciplines was set for September 30, while the participating nations need to register the name of the athletes by October 31. Likewise, the two parties also agreed to publish the SA Games handbook by August 24.

NOC President Jeevan Ram Shrestha, who is also the president of South Asian Olympic Council, chaired the meeting which was participated by NSC Member Secretary Ramesh Kumar Silwal along with 13th SAG Secretariat chief Kamal Khanal, NSC Vice-president Pitamber Timsina, and department heads Kul Bahadur Thapa, Arjun BK and Rikhee Pokhrel.

NOC vice-president Purendra Bikram Lakhe and Members Tej Gurung and Ashok Bajracharya, Nilendra Raj Shrestha and Executive Secretary Sujal Lal Shrestha were also present on the occasion.

Nepal is slated to host the SA Games for the third time in Kathmandu and Pokhara from December 1-10. The South Asian Federation Games, now SAG, began from Kathmandu in 1984 and Nepal hosted the SAF Games for the second time in 1999.
