LALITPUR, JANUARY 31

Nepal Police Club edged past Chandrapur Municipality 3-1 in the Women's National League here at the ANFA Complex grounds today.

Nirmala BK, Niru Thapa and Anushka Sherpa netted one goal each for the departmental side, while Sabita Rana Magar scored the consolation goal for Chandrapur.

With their second victory in five matches, NPC accumulated eight points and they climbed up to second position, while Chandrapur are at the sixth place in the seven-team table with three points after their fourth defeat.

Nirmala BK opened the scoring for NPC in the 27th minute when she found the back of the nets from close range in rebound after Niru Thapa headed against the post. Sabita Rana Magar levelled the scores in the 39th minute after NPC goalkeeper Sapana Rai failed to stop the ball despite getting her hands to the ball.

Niru Thapa restored NPC's lead in the 50th minute following a pass from Rekha Poudel.

Ahushka Sherpa sealed the victory for the departmental side in the second minute of the injury time after collecting a pass from Niru Thapa.

Nepal APF Club are at the top of the table with maximum 15 points from five matches, while Tribhuvan Army Football Club are third ahead of Biratnagar Metropolitan City on superior goal difference after being tied on seven points.
