LALITPUR, FEBRUARY 7

Waling Municipality and Chandrapur Municipality recorded identical 1-0 victories in the National Women's League here at the ANFA Complex grounds today.

Waling defeated Nepal Police Club, while Chandrapur edged past Biratnagar Metropolitan City in the second leg matches. African recruit Metho Eludie Ruth scored the solitary goal for Waling, while Rajani Thokar struck in the second half to earn full three points for Chandrapur.

With their third win, Waling moved up to third position with 11 points, whereas the departmental side slipped to fifth place on eight points after facing their second straight defeat in the seven-team competition.

The two teams had played a 1-1 draw in their first leg meeting.

In another match, Thokar found the back of the nets in the 70th minute to seal the win for Chandrapur, who had registered a 5-0 victory over Biratnagar in their previous match. The loss meant, Biratnagar dropped down to fourth spot with 10 points, while Chandrapur accumulated six points after their second win to remain at the sixth place.

The lone unbeaten side of the tournament so far, Nepal APF Club are the runaway leaders with 18 points from six matches, while fellow departmental side Tribhuvan Army Football Club are second on 16 points. After cent percent results in the first leg without conceding a single goal, APF will open the second leg on Monday when they take on bottom team Chaudandigadhi Municipality, who have yielded 74 goals scoring just one.
