NPC reach Budha Subba semis

DHARAN: Nepal Police Club (NPC) carried their superb form reaching the semi-finals of the 12th Budha Subba Gold Cup with a comfortable 4-0 win over ANFA Under 16 Team here at the proposed Eastern Stadium today.

Pankaj Shahi scored a brace while Dipen Shrestha and Roshan Karki added one each for the departmental team of Nepal Police.

The Policemen, who clinched the eighth Aaha Gold Cup title on February 6 in Pokhara, were in no trouble sidelining the junior boys from the ANFA Academy.

Dipen gave NPC the early 17th minute lead before man of the match Pankaj doubled in the 40th.

The U-16 boys were no match with the physically strong and tall Policemen and failed to make any moves that could have pushed NPC to the back foot.

Pankaj then extended the lead further in the 49th minute before Roshan completed the rout in the 75th. The NPC could have won with a huge margin, had they cashed in on other scoring opportunities.

The NPC will now take on Himalayan Sherpa Club of Kathmandu in the semi-final match. In the first semi-final on Wednesday, hosts Dharan Football Club will play Ranipokhari Corner Team of Kathmandu.
