NRT, MC play 5-5 draw in a thrilling goal fest; BBC hammer FC 3-0
KATHMANDU: New Road Team (NRT) and Machhindra Club (MC) played a thrilling 5-5 draw, Brigade Boys Club (BBC) thrashed Friends Club (FC) and Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) held Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) for a goalless draw during their Pulsar Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League in Kathmandu today.
JYC held departmental team TAC to a dour goalless draw at the Halchowk Ground in early kickoff. Later, TAC's Dinesh Henjan won the man of the match award and bagged a cash purse of Rs 10,000.
BBC's foreign recruits Kazeem Busari scored a brace and Abdu Nsiah notched a stoppage-time goal to inflict heavy defeat over NIBL Friends Club at the ANFA Complex Ground in Satdobato today.
Busari scored in the 15th minute and 46th minute of the game in either half. Later, BBC's Randip Paudel was adjudged man of the match for his scintillating performance.
NRT twice came from behind to draw 5-5 in a thrilling encounter at the ANFA Complex Ground today. MC's Vassadia Diamande broke the deadlock as early on the third minute before conceding a suicidal goal in the 8th minute.
A minute later, MC's Bishal Rai scored a wonderful goal to take a 2-1 lead against the bottom team. MC were 4-1 up inside half an hour as Khamir Glisan and Ani Gurung struck twice in space of two minutes in the 27th and 29th minute respectively.
NRT's Ashok Thapa scored a brace in space to two minutes in the 32nd and 34th minute respectively to reduce arrears to 4-3 before Sushil Lama stepped up to take a penalty in the first half stoppage time to level the score 4-4 going into the break.
After an hour play, MC's Bishal Rai scored his second and team's fifth goal before NRT's Kouassi Jean obliged with a sweet volley to equalise in the 85th minute to leave MC's supporters speechless in a thrilling goal fest.
Later, NRT's Ashok Thapa was declared man of the match.
Meanwhile, MMC lead the table on 33 points and NRT sit on the bottom of the chart.
