NSC announces team

KATHMANDU: The National Sports Council on Friday announced the 25-member squad for the ICC World Cricket League Championship matches against Namibia. Saying there was no functioning governing body of cricket in Nepal, the ICC had on March 16 formed an independent selection panel that included national team skipper and coach with ICC Development Officer Venkatapathy Raju acting as an advisor. Raju arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday and the panel submitted the names of the players to the sports governing body. The third-round matches of the WCL Championship are slated for April 16 and 18. Although the NSC said both the matches will be held at the TU Stadium, the ICC is yet to give green signal to the stadium.
