NSC sets dates for National Games

Kathmandu, November 21

National Sports Council today decided to hold the seventh National Games in the Eastern region from December 23-30.

The 107th board meeting of the sports governing body, chaired by Minister for Youth and Sports Daljit Sripaili, finalised the new dates for the Games, informed NSC Press Advisor Rohit Dahal.

This is the fourth time that the NSC announced the schedules for the national games, which was postponed for three times due to financial crisis, earthquake and political instability.

The Games was originally scheduled to be held from November 27 to December 4 last year before the NSC postponed it for March 1-6. The Games was rescheduled for third time for November 23-30.

The board also decided to hold the regional selection games from December 5-13. The regional games were slated for November 8-18.

“The National Games will be on time as we have everything on right track and we will not face any problem since the financial norms have also been approved,” said Dahal, who also informed that the weather will not affect the event.

Besides, Minister Sripaili, MoYS Joint Secretary Choodamani Paudel, National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista and representatives of different regions were also present in the meeting.
