NSJF inks deals with Sahas, Avenues

Kathmandu, May 4

Nepal Sports Journalists Forum today renewed deals with Sahas Sports and Avenues TV for the NSJF Pulsar Sports Award slated for May 17 at the Army Officers Club.

Sahas Sports will be co-sponsor of the event, while Avenues TV will be the official broadcaster of the award. NSJF President Mahesh Acharya and Sahas Sports Managing Director Janak Neupane exchanged the Memorandum of Understanding. As per the agreement, Sahas Sports will provide the NSJF with sports wears for different events and will also provide gift hampers for the winners and nominees of the award.

Neupane said he was proud to be associated with the award. “Our association with the award is not new. We have been working together for the last two years through a different brand. We have witnessed the growth of the award and we feel proud that it has gained a great height. The award is one of the most awaited one by the sports fraternity,” he added.

Similarly, NSJF President Acharya and Avenues TV Chief Executive Officer Samriddhi Rajkarnikar exchanged the MoU for the broadcaster partnership for the award. As per the agreement, Avenues will broadcast the sports award live on May 17 and will also promote the event.

Avenues CEO Rajkarnikar said being associated with prestigious award was a matter of pride. “We have been associated with the award for a long time and we will always be part of the event which is dedicated to the athletes,” she said.

The  award will feature eight  categories — Male, Female, Youth, Coach, People’s Choice, Para-athlete, Special and  Lifetime Achievement. The winners of the male, female, people’s choice and coach will get Bajaj Pulsar NS160 motorbike each, while other winners will get Rs 50,000 each. Hansraj Hulaschand and Company is the main sponsor of the event, while THT LIVE, Hotel Royal Singi, Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd, National Sports Council and Nepal Olympic Committee are the supporters of the event.
