LALITPUR: Nepal National and International Players’ Association (NNIPA) on Saturday raised Rs 104,000 for the treatment of former national volleyball player Dinesh Baniya here .

The NNIPA screened three documentaries — Football Language of World, Water Festival and Inspiration — at the Ashok Party Palace to raise funds today. The documentaries were prepared by former footballer Om Krishna Shrestha. Meanwhile, All Nepal Football Association president Ganesh Thapa pledged further Rs 100,000 for the player’s treatment. “I will arrange Rs 100,000 for the cause,” announced Thapa after the screening of the documentaries.

The NNIPA is also organising the Kheladi Cup, a charity football tournament, at the Dasharath Stadium on June 25-27.
