Panel to examine fans

MOSCOW: Russian football authorities will investigate CSKA Moscow fans’ behaviour at Saturday’s Premier League match with Anzhi Makhachkala, local press reported Monday. “We received a report from the match delegate,” Artur Grigoryants, Russian Football Union (RFU) disciplinary board chief said. “The report informed us about the insulting and obscene chants of CSKA fans addressed to the visiting side’s supporters.” Grigoryants also said his panel would investigate reports that Moscow supporters displayed an insulting banner. He added that both clubs’ representatives had been invited to Wednesday’s disciplinary board meeting. On Sunday Anzhi expressed concern over CSKA fans’ behaviour and called on the RFU and police to investigate. “In case the fans’ aggression remains unpunished it inevitably raises the number of such outbreaks,” a statement on Anzhi’s website announced.
