KATHMANDU: Pushkar Raj Pant became the first Nepali to get the status of IBA International Technical Official.
Pant, who is also the executive committee member of the Nepal Boxing Association, completed the course organised by the International Boxing Association from January 18- 22 in Thailand on the sidelines of the ASBC U-22 Boxing Championship.
Meanwhile, Bagmati Province board member Dhana Kumar Mainalee acquired the IBA 2-Star Referee and Judge license. Mainalee, who took part in the IBA 2-Star R&J Course in Bangkok from January 17-27, is the first Nepali to get the status from the IBA. A total of 22 officials from 20 countries participated in the courses.
Both Pant and Mainalee had officiated in the 13th South Asian Games held on home soil in 2019.
