DAMAULI: Shahash Pantha won the Open Road Race organised by Tanahun District Sports Development Committee here on Sunday. Pantha finished the 7km race from Damauli to Chhabdi in 23 minutes and 56 seconds.
Sanam Gurung came second in 23:57, while Sajan Thapa was third in 24:44. Top three athletes received Rs 8,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively.
In women's section, Sushmita Ranabhat won the race in 30:25, finishing ahead of Namrata Gurung (31:10) and Rashmi Ranabhat (34:27).
Top three athletes received Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 respectively. A total of 51 athletes, including 15 in women's section, took part in the race. Tanahun District Sports Development Committee Chairman Anil Pandey and Secretary Shivahari Pandit handed over prizes to the winners.
