Parki, Basnet win
Kathmandu, February 19
Tribhuvan Army Club’s Gopi Chand Parki and Reshu Basnet won the Kantipur Hero Half Marathon here on Friday.
Parki completed the 21.1km distance in 1 hour, 8 minutes and 29 seconds in men’s section, while Basnet clocked 1 hour, 28 minutes and 20 seconds to complete the distance in women’s category. Parki and Basnet received Rs 50,000 each. In the men’s category, Shankar Man Thapa, Lal Bahadur Thapa, Hari Kumar Rimal, Laxman Malla Thakuri and Raj Kumar Bista finished the distance from second to sixth position respectively. In women’s section, Sanu Maya Karki, Sarita BC, Pushpa Bhandari, Saraswoti Rai and Sonu Jaya finished second to sixth spots respectively.
Hare Ram Nepal won the 5km corporate-media marathon. Damodar Budha Magar came in second before Sher Bahadur Tharu. In corporate-media female category, Santoshi Shrestha, Humi Budha Magar and Urmila Maharjan finished the distance in top three positions.
Ram Bahadur Tamang won the 5km wheel chair marathon. Raju Katuwal and Prem BK came second and third respectively. Lali Tamang won in the female category, while Rajani Rai and Yami Jhankri finished in second and third position respectively.
The race started from Kantipur Publication premises in Subidhanagar — going through Koteshowr, Sallaghari, Surya Binayak, Jagati and back to Subidhanagar.
