Patriots beat Kings XI by one-wicket to reach EPL final

KATHMANDU: Lalitpur Patriots beat Kathmandu Kings XI by one-wicket in the first qualifiers to seal a berth in the final of the ongoing Everest Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament at TU Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur, on Tuesday.

Patriots skipper Gyanendra Malla won the toss and opted to field first before restricting Rohan Mustafa's Kathmandu Kings XI for a paltry score of 108 runs in 19.5 overs. In reply, Patriots mustered a one-wicket victory in a low scoring thriller in a foggy condition today.

Despite losing to Patriots, Kathmandu Kings XI will get one more chance to get into the final as they await the winner between Bhairahawa Gladiators and Chitwan Tigers in another eliminator match.

Patriot's man-of-the-match Yogendra Singh Karki snatched three Kings XI wickets in just 2.5 overs in an expense of 18 runs before returning with the bat to smash valuable run-a-ball 28 unbeaten runs.
