Pepsi Open Golf Tournament today

Varun Beverages (Nepal) Pvt Ltd is organising the second edition of the Pepsi Open Golf Tournament at the Gokarna Golf Club on Saturday.

A total of 90 players — including six women, four junior and 12 senior golfers — are taking part in the one-day tournament which will be played under stableford 3/4 handicap format, informed Senior Golf Director of Gokarna Golf Club Deepak Acharya at a press meet today.

The tournament features men, women, gross, junior and senior categories, while prizes are also up grabs for closest-to-the-pin, longest drive and most birdies, informed Acharya. “We have attractive prizes for the winners and we will disclose that only after the match,” said Acharya.

Acharya also thanked Varun Beverages, the producers of soft drink Pepsi, for its continued support for golf. “Varun Beverages has been very supportive in taking amateur golf to the next level and we are also hopeful that they will also support professional golf in the days to come,” he added.

Market Development Manager of Varun Beverages, Sushil Ratna Tuladhar hoped that the event would provide the golfers with platform for competition and fun. “We are proud to be associated with golf and Gokarna Forest Resort and we hope this association will grow in the years to come for the growth of the sport,” said Tuladhar. Asked about organising pro event, Tuladhar said: “We are just into second year of golf and we can organise a tournament for professional golfers in future.”
