PM assures support for sports development
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today said that the government would provide full support for the expansion and development of sports as it is an identity of the nation.
Speaking at a walkathon event organised by the Madan Bhandari Sports Academy (MBSA) in the Capital today, PM Oli urged all sides to work for the development of sports beyond their personal and political interests.
On a different note, Oli said that political leadership would move ahead by resolving existing political problems. “Varied differences surfaced in current politics could be addressed and we are committed to that end,” he said.
The Prime Minister also pledged to move ahead on the path of prosperity, addressing aspirations of all people, maintaining peace and security, safeguarding people's rights and strengthening the democratic system.
Similarly, Minister for Youth and Sports Satya Narayan Mandal expressed his view that it was necessary to coordinate with MBSA for the expansion and development of the country’s sports sector.
Also, on the occasion, PM Oli inaugurated a website of the Academy.
Participated by around 2000 people, the walkathon started from Bhrikutimandap and went through Sahid Gate and Sundhara before ending in Tripureshwor.
