Police thrash Army in men’s volleyball final
Makawanpur, September 19
Nepal Police Club won the title of the Keshab Lal Memorial second National Men’s Volleyball Tournament here today.
In the final match, NPC thrashed Tribhuvan Army Club on three straight sets. NPC won the first set 25-20 and dominated the second 25-16 before claiming third one 25-20. Champions NPC earned Rs 200,000, while runners-up TAC received Rs 100,000.
Similarly, Nepal APF Club finished third with a 25-13, 25-16, 25-22 victory over hosts Makawanpur. Nepal APF Club got Rs 50,000 and Makawanpur earned Rs 25,000.
TAC’s Kul Bahadur Thapa was named the best player of the tournament and earned Rs 15,000, while Dhan Bahadur Bhatta and Bhairab Bam of TAC were named the best spiker and blocker respectively. NPC’s Em Rana Magar won the best lifter’s award and Samsher Chand was declared the best defender. The individual award winners got Rs 5,000 each. A total of eight teams competed in the tournament organsied by Keshab Lal Memorial Foundation of Makawanpur.
