Hosts Prime College dominated the field throughout and overwhelmed Sigma College 73-16 in the day’s quarter-final of the third Prime Cup Inter-college Basketball Tournament. Bijan Shrestha top-scored with 25 points for the winning team. In other matches, St Xavier’s College beat RIBS 47-45 with Krijan Shrestha scoring 21 points; whereas Binod netted 14 points in White House College’s 50-33 win over Rato Bangala.

However, the second match between Martyrs’ Memorial and Brookfield was dragged into controversy after the latter claimed that Martyrs’ Memorial brought outsiders to play. Result of the match: Martyrs’ Memorial won 38-32. “The result will be confirmed on Thursday,” said Mahesh Karmacharya, event coordinator.
