Pulchowk outplay Samajik

Pulchowk Sports Club thrashed Samajik Youth Club 4-1 to record their second win in the Martyrs Memorial B Division Football League here at the Nepal APF Club grounds today.
Pulchowk’s Kamal Thapa scored the opener in the 37th minute. Subash Tamang of Samajik levelled the scores in the 55th minute. Asish Gurung restored Pulchowk’s lead in the 66th minute and Purna Bahadur Gurung extended the advantage with the team’s third goal in the 75th minute. Gurung scored his second goal in the injury time of the match to make it 4-1 for Pulchowk.
Pulchowk, who had defeated Satdobato Youth Club 3-0 in their first match, accumulated six points from three matches to move to the third position on better goal difference after they were tied with Shree Kumari Club, who have played one match less. Samajik are at the bottom with three consecutive defeats.
In the day’s first match, Bansbari Club and Khumaltar Youth Club played a 1-1 draw at the same venue. Bansbari took the lead through Binod Gurung’s goal in the 27th minute. Khumaltar levelled the scores in the second half when Thakur Shrestha scored from the spot in the 52nd minute. The result meant Bansari remained unchanged at the sixth position with five points, behind Madhyapur Youth Association who are ahead in superior goal difference. Khumaltar are 12th with just one point from three matches.
