Kathmandu, January 28

Rabindra Tiwari claimed the title of the 11th edition of the Surya Nepal Gokarna Monthly Medal here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.

Tiwari scored one-over 73 nett to win the trophy, while Prabhakar Adhikari became runner-up with the score of three-over 75. Purna Man Shakya, who scored four-over 76 nett, finished third.

Likewise, Vijay Shrestha Einhaus bagged the gross section award with the score of seven-over 79, while Sam Doublard scored five-over 77 to win the junior section title. Dhurba Thapa is at the top of the club championship table in nett section with 660 points after the completion of the 11th edition.

Tendi Sherpa is at the second position with 590 points, while Jigmay Dongstetsang and Rabindra Tiwari are tied for the third position on 460 points, followed by Prabhakar Adhikari (400 points) and Purna Man Shakya (380). Atma Ram Simkhada, Dr Bhagwan Koirala and Babu Sherpa have 320 points each.

Similarly, Vijay Shrestha Einhaus, who accumulated 265 points, is leading in the gross section. Tendi Sherpa (190) and Prithivi Malla (160) are at the second and third positions respectively. In the junior's category, Devasri Rana (340), Sam Doublard (250) and Mayank Dahal (210) are at the top three positions respectively.

Top 40 scorers in the nett category, top 10 scorers of the gross category and top six juniors will compete for the club championship title in their respective categories. The final event to be held next month will decide the champions.

President of the Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire gave away the prizes to the winners of the tournament, which is sponsored by the Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd.
