KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 23

Nepali pro golfer Sukra Bahadur Rai made a forgettable debut in the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) as he missed cut in the season-opening Gujarat Open Golf Championship at the Kalhaar Blues and Greens Golf Club in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.

After opening the campaign with a five-over 77 on Tuesday, Rai played a horrible round on 13-over 85 on the second day to miss the cut, which was applied at five-over 149.

He suffered a triple bogey and four double bogeys along with three bogeys in the second round. His lone birdie of the day came on the eighth hole. He shot a 77 in the first round despite carding three birdies.

Rai earned the PGTI full card last week after he finished tied 13th in the Qualifying School at the same course. He will now play the second event of the Tour, Glade One Masters slated for March 1-4 at the Glade One Resort and Club in Ahmedabad.
