Rain delays second NZ-SL Test

COLOMBO: A wet outfield caused by early morning rain has delayed the start of the second cricket Test between New Zealand and Sri Lanka here on Wednesday.

The respective playing XIs had not been announced at the scheduled 09.30 am (0400 GMT) time of the toss as groundstaff at the Sinhalese sports club attempted to dry the field under overcast skies.

Sri Lanka lead the two-match series after winning the first Test in Galle last week by 202 runs.
