Rana wins Everest Express Cup

Madan Rana won the Everest Express Tours and Travels Golf Tournament 2005 here at RNGC today. Rana won the title on count back after he was tied at 34 points with Puran Bahadur Rai. Tashi Ghale, with 31 points, won the best gross and most birdies awards. Bijay Bahadur Shrestha achieved the Hole in One feat at 140-yard Par-3 Hole No 8. Eu Hazur Thapa won the ladies title with Shastika Shrestha finishing runner-up. Binay Raj Pandey won the senior section title and Khadgajeet Baral came first in the super senior section. Maj Bejoy Moktan was awarded the gift hamper for his 25th position, while Brig Gen M B Adhikary won the shortest drive award at Hole No 10. Lt Gen Victory SJB Rana won the longest drive award at Hole No 13, while Shastika Shrestha won the women’s longest drive award at Hole No 4.

Shrihar SJB Rana came closest to the EE logo at Hole No 18, while Mahendra Suwal did so to centre line at Hole No 10. Col Kosh Bahadur Thapa emerged the golfer closest to the pin at Hole No 14. Pradeep K Shrestha won the elegant golfer’s award, while Sopie Hammod got enthusiastic golfer’s prize. R R Pandey, executive chairman, and Chandra Lekha Pandey, managing director, of Everest Express Tours and Travels, gave away prizes to the winners.
